Mission Statement

The purpose of Cardinal Booster Club is to support and help promote youth activities at Ione Community School.

About Us

Meetings are the first Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Ione Community School library.

Cardinal Booster Club was formed when the Cardinal (parent-teacher) Club merged with the Ione Booster (athletic) Club. The purpose of the club is to support and help promote youth activities at Ione Community School. Any person is eligible for active membership. The dues are $5 annually, or family membership packages can be purchased for $50. Business memberships are available for $100.

ARTICLE I - Name

The name of this organization shall be Cardinal Booster Club.

ARTICLE II - Purpose

The purpose of this organization shall be to support and help promote youth activities at Ione Community School, Ione, Oregon. 

ARTICLE III - Membership

Any person who supports the purpose of this organization is eligible for active membership with the full responsibilities and privileges thereof.

ARTICLE IV - Dues

Dues shall be assessed annually of all members of this organization at the rate of $5.00 for individuals, a family membership package of $50, or a business membership package of $100 due October 1 of each calendar year.

ARTICLE V - Government

Section 1

This organization shall elect four officers for one year terms for the following positions: 

  1. President 
  2. Vice-President 
  3. Secretary/Treasurer 
  4. Concessions Chairperson 

Officers can be re-elected for unlimited terms.

Section 2

The affairs of the Corporation shall be managed by the board of directors.  The number of directors constituting the board of directors shall be seven, consisting of the four officers, the school athletic director and two elected members at large.

Electing at large positions:  The board of directors shall appoint a nominating committee of two persons.  The nominating committee shall present candidates to the board of directors.  The membership shall elect the board of directors from the slate put forward by the nominating committee.  The election of the board shall be by the members present at the annual meeting.  The newly elected board members shall serve terms of two years.

Section 3

The funds of this organization shall be withdrawn from the bank with which they are on deposit by the signatures of two designated board members. 

Section 4

Officers shall take office on October 1 and serve until September 30 of the following year. These dates shall constitute the fiscal year for the organization. 

Section 5 

All committees shall be appointed by the president following consultation with the board of directors.

ARTICLE VI - Duties of Officers

Section 1

The president shall supervise the affairs, activities, and chair the meetings of this organization.

ARTICLE VII - Meetings

The organization shall hold regular monthly meetings which shall be open to all active members and their guests.  The meetings will be held the first Monday of every month at 7 p.m. at the Ione Community School library. The annual meeting will be in June, at the regular monthly meeting.  Special meetings may be called, or meeting dates rescheduled, at any time by the board of directors.

ARTICLE VIII - Exemption and Corporation Tax Law

The Cardinal Booster Club is organized solely as a non-profit association and its activities shall be conducted for the aforesaid purpose in such a manner that no part of its earnings or property will inure to the benefit of any member, director, officer, individual, firm or corporation.  Upon dissolution or final liquidation, all assets remaining after satisfaction of all debts and liabilities will be distributed to some other qualified non-profit organization, exempt under section 501 C(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954. The receiving organization shall be determined by the membership of this association. 

ARTICLE IX - Rules of Order

Robert’s Rules of Order shall govern the proceedings of all meetings of this organization.

ARTICLE X - Amendments

These bylaws may be amended by a two-thirds vote of the members present at any general meeting, provided notice of the proposal to make amendments has been published in the local newspaper or in a special letter to each active member, the notice given at least fifteen days prior to such a meeting.

Cardinal Booster Club Scholarship

The Cardinal Booster Club scholarship is a cash grant awarded annually to one or more Ione High School graduating seniors. The following information details the scholarship's application procedure and criteria:

Application Procedure

  1. The school counselor or scholarship representative shall be responsible for distributing scholarship application information to senior class members interested in applying for the Cardinal Booster Club scholarship no later than March 1.
  2. Each applicant shall complete the requirements for the Cardinal Booster Club scholarship and submit it to Mr. Rudolf by March 15 of the school year.
  3. A selection committee shall be convened to review the applications and select the recipient(s).  The committee shall be comprised of two representatives from the Ione community and one Ione High School teacher.  Committee members shall not be related to, or legal guardians for, any of the applicants.
  4. The selection committee shall recommend one or more winners for the scholarship amount and determine the distribution of scholarship funds.  A total of $1500 will be available for distribution.  However, no one applicant may receive over $500.  The Cardinal Booster Club reserves the right to make final selection and distribution of any and all scholarship funds.  If no applicant is deemed worthy by the committee to receive the award, the scholarship shall not be given that year.
  5. The selection committee shall notify the Cardinal Booster Club president of their recommendation.  Scholarship recipients shall be announced at the graduation ceremony.
  6. Funds will be released only upon receipt of documentation of the student's enrollment in the second term or semester of a post high school educational institution.

Criteria

  1. Each applicant shall be judged on the basis of written communication skills, participation and leadership in school activities and community involvement.
  2. Minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) for this scholarship shall be 3.0.

Cardinal Booster Club generates income through membership dues, the annual basketball tournaments, community calendar sales, bottle recycling and various other fund-raisers. There are three ways to become a member of the booster club. You can become an individual member by paying annual dues of $5.00.  Family and business memberships are also available. Business Membership

 

The Ione Cardinal Booster Club is composed of school staff, parents, community members and businesses dedicated to supporting the athletic and academic needs of students at Ione Community School.

In order to eliminate multiple requests for money, the club offers a membership plan for the school year. The package includes:

  • A Cardinal Booster Club membership
  • Recognition on the Ione team page of the district tournament program
  • Recognition in the district and state newspaper ads (should our teams qualify)
  • Recognition on all home basketball programs
  • An ad on the Ione Community calendar and a free calendar
  • An ad on the Ione Community sport schedule poster

This package is available for $100. if you do not want to buy the entire membership package, but would like to have an ad on our community calendar, the cost is $50.

If you are interested in purchasing the business membership package or just buying an ad on the community calendar, please contact an officer of Cardinal Booster Club.  We would appreciate hearing from you by October 1 to insure your business is included on the sport poster and calendar.

 

 

Family Membership

The Ione Cardinal Booster Club is composed of school staff, parents, community members and businesses dedicated to supporting the athletic and academic needs of students at Ione Community School.

In order to eliminate multiple requests for money, the club offers a membership plan for the school year. The package includes:

  • A family Cardinal Booster Club membership
  • Your name on the Ione team page of the district tournament program
  • Your name in the district and state newspaper ads {should our teams qualify}
  • Your name on the Ione sports schedule poster

The package is available for $50.  If you would like to purchase this membership plan, please contact a booster club officer. We would appreciate hearing from you by October 10 to insure your name is included on the sport poster.

 

 

Ione Booster Club Hall Of Fame

The Cardinal Booster Club sponsors a Hall of Fame to honor outstanding individuals and teams who, through their exceptional achievements, have brought honor to themselves, Ione High School and the Ione community.

Each year, from January through March, nominations will be solicited by the Cardinal Booster Club Board of Directors.  Received nominations shall be evaluated by a screening committee (five persons appointed by the Board of Directors) and, if deemed appropriate by the screening committee, forwarded to the Board of Directors.  Entry to the Hall of Fame shall be by a majority of 2/3 of the Board of Directors.

Hall of Fame members will be inducted in the fall following their election.

Particulars of the Hall of Fame may be amended by a 2/3 majority vote of the Board of Directors.
