The Ione School District is thrilled to announce that we are able to reopen our schools to allow in person learning this Wednesday!!! We will still need to require masks and social distancing. The school will be disinfecting our facilities daily or sooner as protocols require. Bussing should be available (we are verifying bus transportation today) so please check with us on Tuesday if your student needs to ride the bus.
For Elementary School ALL students… we will start on Wednesday Oct 28th at 8:00 am and release will be at 3:30 pm (Monday through Thursday). Each student will be in their regular classroom during the day. Kinder, 1, and 2 will share recess time and PE. 3rd grade and 4th grade will also share recess and PE time, with 5th and 6th grade being the last larger cohort.
Secondary is still very complicated. Because of the restricted number of people in the classrooms, our desire to keep electives available, (but keep cohorts from mixing), regular classes like math where cohorts need to keep from mixing, and the fact that we need to figure out how to fill a position with the probability of a teacher moving to the Portland area. Thus, we will be running an A/B schedule for at least a couple weeks while we try and figure out how to best get ALL students here each day. Beginning this Wednesday Oct 28th, we will have 8th graders, 11th graders, and 12th graders (then every Monday/Wednesday after that), then 7th graders, 9th graders, and 10th graders beginning this Thursday Oct 29th (and every Tuesday and Thursday after that).
