The Ione School District has narrowed its Superintendent search to three finalists and is inviting district staff and the community to meet them.
On Thursday, March 18th from 5:00 to 6:00 PM, there will be a Meet the Candidates gathering at the Ione Elementary School Gym. Each candidate will speak briefly to the entire audience and then be available to meet and answer questions with small groups. Mask wearing and social distancing will be enforced during the event.
Here is some information about each of the three candidates:
Kevin Dinning
- Master’s in educational leadership from Concordia University
- Bachelor of Science from University of Idaho
- Present Position: Middle School Principal at Bonners County Middle School, Idaho
- Previous Positions: High School Principal at Bonners Ferry High School, Idaho; Teacher, Abu Dhabi Education Council UAE
Tracey Johnson
- Master of Education from Concordia University
- Bachelor of Arts-Education from Concordia University
- Present Position: Elementary Principal at Ione Community Schools
- Previous Positions: Principal in Morrow County School District; Teacher in Oregon Trail School District
Spencer Byrd
- Educational Specialist Degree from Western Illinois University
- Master’s Degree-Education Leadership from Northeastern Illinois University
- Bachelor’s Degree from Olivet College
- Present Position: Superintendent in Serena Schools, Illinois
- Previous Positions: Superintendent in Meridian School District, Illinois; High School Principal in East Aurora Schools, Illinois
