PUBLIC REVIEW OF PROPOSED INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

Personal Financial Education

Ione School District R2 is providing an opportunity for parents, guardians, staff, students, and community members to review instructional materials proposed for use in the district's Personal Financial Education course.

Proposed Instructional Material

Grade Level: High School

The proposed materials are being reviewed as part of Ione School District R2's instructional materials selection and adoption process. Oregon's Personal Financial Education standards  were adopted by the Oregon State Board of Education in 2023, and ODE has established recommended criteria to assist districts in reviewing and selecting high-quality instructional materials aligned to those standards.

The district will review the materials for alignment with Oregon's Personal Financial Education standards, including the areas of:

• Credit and Debt
• Banking, Investing, Savings and Repayment
• Budgeting, Spending and Money Management
• Personal Income, Taxes and Services
• Maintaining Financial Wellbeing

Public Review

The proposed instructional materials will be available for public examination at the school office from September 14-17 from 7:30AM-4:00PM.

Public Comment

Parents, guardians, staff, students, and community members are invited to provide written comments regarding the proposed instructional materials.

Written comments may be submitted to Mary Rietmann at mary.rietmann@ionesd.org.

All comments received during the public review period will be considered as part of the district's instructional materials review and adoption process.

Following the public review period, the proposed instructional materials will be presented to the Ione School District School Board for consideration and adoption.
